Training & Development Programmes

We offer a number of Training and Development options for organisations that would like to improve their overall awareness and expertise in offering a welcoming and effective culture and structure for employees, customers, and other stakeholders – particularly by focusing on the trans community.

Whilst we cover trans+ issues in depth, we are also skilled in working around wider LGBTQIA+ issues and Neurodiversity.

Having a diverse culture allows people to deliver more effectively in the workplace and allow the development of more productive and ‘adult’ relationships based on mutual respect and with increased psychological safety.

Our options include the following:

The Fundamentals: 90-minute digital session

A recorded online progmame examining the most central issues about:

·       What being trans+ is all about

·       An introduction to some of the terminology

·       The use of pronouns

·       Some of the biggest missteps to avoid

·       How to create a welcoming culture

·       How to be an ally

·       How to signpost help for those that need it

The Key Issues: 3-Hour Hybrid session

In person and/or online training with one trainer – max of 15 delegates

·       A deeper dive into the subjects above

·       A chance for your questions and answers

·       A chance to share experience

·       A chance to tailor the content to your specific environment

Trans Awareness and Strategies: One day Hybrid session

In person and/or online training with one trainer (sometimes joined by an online colleague if appropriate) – max of 15 delegates

In addition to the above

·       A brief history of the issues

·       The path to ‘treatment’ and the challenges that raises

·       Workplace process and policy

·       How to handle issues around conflict and ‘reluctant’ or ‘resistant’ staff issues

·       How to offer support when ‘things go wrong’

Leadership and Management session - One day Hybrid

In person and/or online training with one trainer (sometimes joined by an online colleague if appropriate) – max of 12 delegates

In addition to the above

·       Dealing with ‘mental health’ issues

·       Building an ‘adult’ culture focused on performance, acceptance and accountability

·       How to support trans people – from first steps to invisibility – including social, legal, financial and health issues

·       How to handle issues around conflict and ‘reluctant’ or ‘resistant’ staff issues

·       How to offer support when ‘things go wrong’

·       How to build psychological safety in the team and maximise the benefits from allowing people to be their ‘best/authentic selves’

·       How to separate the ‘noise’ and ‘drama’ from the practicality of dealing with performance

Conferences

For those people running a larger conference, we are happy to quote a specific price for a dynamic and informative session for your audience.

Coaching

We provide tailored coaching sessions for a range of issues that may be more suitable than a group training programme.

For example:

·      For a person exploring whether they are trans or not

·      For a leader or manager that has a specific development, performance or conflict situation that needs individual attention and more options generated

·      For a specific mediation in a workplace conflict between individuals

·      For a leader or manager who wants to discuss specific team/culture issues around resilience, culture, accountability etc

Organisation Accreditation

We want to recognise those organisations (or divisions or larger organisations) that actually recognise the needs of trans people as part of developing a more inclusive culture. This is not to suggest that anyone is ‘perfect’, more that they show a commitment and sustained focus in moving forward the diversity and trans agenda in their organisation.

In order to be considered, we would have carried out an audit of process and practice as well as having delivered some tailored and specific development to your people leaders and teams.

  • Initial audit or review of policies and practice (opinion surveys etc)

  • Trans+ inclusive policies and procedures checklist completed by you

  • Complete relevant training (at discounted rates)

Organisation gains:

  • One year ‘trans inclusive organisation’ accreditation (and media announcement)

  • Discounted (optional) training sessions

  • Access to our advice line

All of the revenues generated from our training programmes are used to boost our ‘hardship fund’ so that anyone can access our services irrespective of their financial position.

  • Brilliant training - so useful and practical

  • I was able to ask the 'burning questions' I needed to ask

  • Really supportive and informed - but able to communicate and bring expertise to life

  • Useful content for us managers - not just another 'story' session

  • They made it relevant and took away the politics and asngst for me
