Meet the Team

Gillian (They/She)
CEO (They/She)
Gillian is a trans person who has been a Trustee of the charity before and is delighted to be able to return and take up this role. She has also been a beneficiary of the organisation personally and knows the amazing effect the the charity can bring.
She is a speaker, coach, psychologist and committed ally within the sector and looking forward to supporting this wonderful team, members and organisation into the next phase. -
Maximillian (Any)
THERAPEUTIC LEAD
Maximillian’s first job priority is to ensure that our members receive the support they need. He allocates volunteers to members, allocates members to groups, organises speakers and even runs a few groups and events himself.
He also helps develop and deliver training, both internally and externally. -
Dawn (She/Her)
OPERATIONS COORDINATOR
Dawn ensures the whole charity runs effectively. She oversees our Core Service Delivery team, which is responsible for the day to day running of our support services including the onboarding and wellbeing of our members . She also looks after the CEO, staff HR and recruitment, training bookings, and can generally be found organising people.

Abigail (She/Her)
FUNDRAISING, EVENTS AND MEDIA COORDINATOR
Abigail is in charge of making sure all our Projects and Events run smoothly. This includes everything from our internal events to organising our appearance at Pride to the improvement of the charity as a whole. Mostly this means giving other people in the office more jobs to do.

Jenny (She/Her)
TRUSTEE
Jenny lives in Stoke-on-Trent, she is 52 and transitioned in 2006. She has been in the NHS since 1987, having previously worked caring for people with a learning disability. For the last 20 years her role has been as a seconded trade union representative (UNISON) supporting NHS members with a wide variety of workplace issues, and through this role she has been a sitting member of the Trust board for her main NHS employer. In my trade union she has held leadership roles locally and regionally and was the first trans person to have been elected to UNISONs national healthcare executive committee. She is involved in UNISONs LGBT+ self-organised group and has spoken at many events and conferences on trans rights and inclusion. She was particularly proud to have played a key part speaking at the 2018 Trades Union Congress on a motion that formed policy supporting the reform of the Gender Recognition Act. She has developed a trans awareness training session that she delivers across the NHS in North Staffordshire, including a session for final year mental health nursing students. In 2018 she was honoured to receive the Stonewall North West workplace role model award.

Scott (He/Him)
CHAIR
Scott has been a police officer with Hampshire Constabulary for 22 years. In addition to his core role Scott co-chairs the Hampshire Constabulary LGBT+ Resource Group, leading around 100 Lesbian and Gay Liaison Officers (LAGLOs) to provide support and advice to colleagues and victims on domestic abuse and hate crimes affecting LGBT+ communities. Scott sits on the Hate Crime group for Hampshire Constabulary, working to equip colleagues to provide an excellent response to hate crime. Scott has recently joined the board and brings his knowledge of policing and the criminal justice system to the group. He is looking forward to developing the excellent relationship between the force and Beyond Reflections.

Ashley (she/her)
TRUSTEE
Ashley joined the board of Beyond Reflections in August 2024 and brings a wealth of knowledge in data and business strategy. As a data professional within the finance sector, Ashley also contributes strong financial literacy to the board and serves as the charity’s Treasurer.
Alongside this role, Ashley chairs the British Computer Society’s Inclusion Committee, leading a diverse group of professionals to shape and promote inclusive practices both within organisation as well as the wider UK IT sector.

Laura (she/her)
TRUSTEE
Laura first joined Beyond Reflections as a beneficiary of the charity's services in 2018, and returned as a volunteer in 2022. She currently runs two of the charity's online groups, and in her spare time offers vocal coaching and other support to trans individuals.
Laura also has extensive experience in industry, having run her own business for 20 years. Laura became a trustee in 2024, and is looking forward to helping the team to guide the charity in its future growth.

CJ (They/Them
CJ is a non-binary therapist trained in EMDR, Psychosexual therapy and PCE-CfD therapy. CJ specialised in Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversity (GSRD). CJ works with couples and individuals in an NHS Talking Therapies Service and alongside clinical work, CJ delivers workshops for staff who are interested in expanding their knowledge and understanding of working with gender expansive clients. CJ also guest lectures at various universities on LGBT+ topics in therapy. CJ became a Trustee for the charity in 2024 and is looking forward to contributing and sharing their therapeutic knowledge and experience with the charity.ription goes here

Marketing Team (secondment)
August became a trustee for Beyond Reflections in 2024. They have a background in research related to trans people across various fields, with a Master’s degree in Gender Studies.
They have been involved in the management of LGBTQ+ groups before, and they bring experience in community building and a strong understanding of neurodiversity and disability.
They are excited to help the charity continue its important work.

FAYE (She/Her)
TRUSTEE
Faye has worked in the charity sector since 2016, with experience of marketing, communications and PR at both local and national charities. She’s currently working at Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity.
Before joining the charity sector, she was a journalist for a national press agency.
Faye’s based in Bristol and enjoys playing roller derby and eating pasta. She’s an ally to the LGBT+ community and became a Trustee in 2025.

Max Hinton (He/They)
TRUSTEE
My background is in Healthcare. I qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2022 and have since specialised in Neuro Physio. I have experience of working with people with complex disabilities, both in the NHS and in the Charity sector. I am passionate about intersectionality and advocating for healthcare to be accessible for all.
I am currently getting involved with the LGBTQIA+ Diversity Network within the CSP (Chartered Society of Physiotherapists). And have spent the last 9 months volunteering for the ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) Alliance, a think tank promoting education and biomedical research into the condition.
