Being a Member
Joining our membership allows you to become part of our community and access all our services; including emotional and practical transition support, counselling, socials and more. We are always developing our services to meet the needs of our community and love to hear from our members what they would like to see.
We work with all gender-diverse adults, including those who are questioning, no matter their journey or ‘stage’. Whether you need help along your transition, want to talk to someone understanding about your wider mental health, or just want to make more friends in the community, join us today!
We only work with people who are aged 18+. If you are under that age, we can signpost you to other relevant service providers. If you are struggling with a loved one’s transition, we can support you too. Get in touch with us to find out more.

Our social and activities groups offer a safe space for you to meet people, and try new things or enjoy current hobbies with your community.
We host these groups both online or in person (in selected locations).
We know being with community to have fun and be creative is important to mental health and wellbeing, we are constantly working on expanding our range of activities so that everyone can find something they love!

Our transition support groups are a volunteer facilitated space to meet with peers to discuss challenges related to your transition, and offer each other light emotional support and practical advice. This may be anything from questioning you gender, to worries about surgery, coming out to families to handling issues at work.
You can join a group that is specific to your gender identity if you would like to discuss specific experiences (or just feel more comfortable) or a mixed group.
These groups run twice monthly, online. You will be invited to join a specific group with a set day and time when you join.

Similar to our transition support groups, these are a volunteer facilitated space to meet with peers and offer emotional support to each other. However our wellbeing support groups are more focused on general check-ins and chats about wider struggles. These groups are for people who want to connect with their community but don’t need direct support with transition related goals.
These groups run twice monthly, online. You will be invited to join a specific group with a set day and time when you join.

All of our members are assigned a caseworker who is available to help you on a 1 2 1 basis with practical queries and activities. This can include anything from completing forms and letter writing to shopping for new clothes and accessories.
Your caseworker will also meet with you regularly to ensure that you are accessing the right services for your needs so we can help you in the best way possible.
They can also offer you emotional support over short periods, if you need additional support around a specific situation or are waiting to join a group.

We provide a type of therapy called person-centred counselling. This means your experience is led and directed by you. Your counsellor will accept and value you for exactly the person you are from start to finish, be honest and transparent with you about the issues you are bringing, and offer and empathic understanding. It’s a safe place to explore your feelings, doubts, insecurities, hopes, issues and dreams.
You can work with one of our person centred counsellors for up to 6 months to help you explore your issues, feelings, beliefs, behaviour, and worldview.

Our members get exclusive access to members events, one-off workshops, and talks with a wide range of service providers and individuals. Paid for events, such as our Annual Awards Evening, are also discounted for our members.
We host a members only Discord where you can chat with others at any time socially, or for support.
Upcoming Socials and Activities Groups
Our in-person socials and activities groups are open to both members and non-members* so why not come along and check us out.

Membership Fees.
Our membership structure is designed to foster a stronger sense of community by creating a fair way for all members to both receive and contribute to support. By participating, each member not only gains access to essential services but also helps sustain the collective well-being of our community. This shared responsibility allows us to continue growing and reaching more individuals facing healthcare inequalities and mental health challenges.
Our standard fee is £15 a month.
Students and those who are unwaged/suffering from financial hardship can access discounted rates. To access our reduced fees, members can complete a hardship fund upon application or at any time during their membership if their circumstances change. This is then assessed by the office staff and is usually approved.
We have a nominal monthly fee for all members. This decision was made with careful consideration and reflects our commitment to improving and expanding the support we provide. The funds from these fees are reinvested into Beyond Reflections, enabling us to continue offering affordable services to the broader community, and to expand our services to meet your needs.
The hardship fund is a ringfenced portion of money that we use to cover the costs of members who are unable to pay, or pay in full, for services received. This may be long or short-term; due to low income, inability to work, a recent unexpected large bill, or a variety of other reasons. If you would like to support our hardship fund, donate below!
