Join Our Therapy Team
Find our more about completing your student placement with us or volunteering as a qualified therapist
Interested in joining our therapeutic volunteer team?
From student counsellors through to private practice therapists, our volunteers offer a space for our members to work through a variety of struggles, whether related to transition or simply with someone who understands that being trans may affect the issues people face, but won’t always be the main focus.
Our members are trans+, non-binary and questioning adults and their families. Your experience will help us deliver mental wellbeing support, allowing them to develop a deeper understanding of themselves, navigate challenges, build resilience and make healthy decisions about their future. The current hostile media landscape and long waiting lists for gender-affirming care mean our members are in more need than ever of professional support. By volunteering some of your practice hours, you can make a huge difference to an otherwise disenfranchised client group.
What we offer our therapeutic volunteers:
Access to our training, with attendance certificates available on request.
Monthly one-hour online peer drop-ins, where we discuss anything from client work to general chat and the team can get to know each other.
Free attendance at our training and development days for volunteers currently seeing our clients.
Valuable experience working with a minority group.
Experience and/or understanding of the LGBT+ community is desirable, and we provide training on trans awareness and working with trans, non-binary and neurodiverse clients.
